HANNAH SMITH: CREATIVE DIRECTOR /CHOREOGRAPHER
Hannah Smith began her Dance career in 2004 when she completed a Foundation Certificate in Contemporary Dance at Hackney Community College, London. During this time she trained under French choreographer Camille L’italien (Central School of Speech and Drama) and Kirsty Richardson (Intimate Contenders). |
In 2005 she performed in Camille L’italiens choreography "The miracle of Laoviah" & "La partida" in Act Festival, Bilbao. In 2005 Hannah choreographed a duet titled ‘Asphyxia’ which was accepted and performed in Skena Up International Film and Theatre Festival, Kosovo.Hannah recently graduated from Demontfort University and achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Dance. In the final year of her degree she choreographed a solo piece titled ‘Breath of me’ which she performed in the annual University Dance Festival. She was also a member of the Student Improvisation Company that performed 6 different structured improvisations in the festival. Since graduating in 2009 Hannah has been trying to establish herself as a free-lance dance artist in Leicester teaching workshops in schools and Pigmented Arts festival. She is the Creative Director and Choreographer of her own company JAMAIS VU DANCE THEATRE who are currently working on their debut work REM, which has already been accepted to perform in a number of local venues. She has completed a YOGABUGS training course and is teaching yoga to children in schools around Leicestershire as well as continuing her British Wheel of Yoga Teacher Training Diploma.
ANGHARAD HARROP: DANCER
Angharad trained at the De Montfort University, Leicester gaining a BA(Hons) Dance first class, and is currently working towards an MA in Dance and Professional Practice. Alongside performing and training, Angharad is an independent dance artist based between Leicester and North Wales. She is currently teaching on Performance Arts programmes at Brooksby Melton College and for community dance organisation Dawns i Bawb. Angharad has a keen interest in capoeira and improvisation and recently returned from a research trip in Brazil. Angharad has worked with choreographers such as Julyen Hamilton, Kirstie Simson and Simon Whitehead.
LUCY WILLIAMSON: DANCER
Lucy began her Ballet and Contemporary Dance training under the
tutelage of Jackie Oakly (Norwich) and graduated with a BA Honours degree in Dance from Northampton University in 2009. During her time at university she performed in various university showcases and professional dance platforms in Northampton. As a dancer and performer she has worked with Frauke Requardt devising and touring dance theatre work. She has trained in contact improvisation under the guidance of Matt Gough
and performed his work at an International Dance Pedagogy Research Conference that was held at Demontfort University earlier this year.
KATE VOSS: DANCER
Kate completed a BTEC National Diploma in Dance at Brooksby Melton College and a BA (HONS) Degree in Dance Studies at Roehampton University in London. She recently graduated from Laban with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Dance Studies. Kate performed and toured as part of 3rd Row Dance Company from 2007 – 2008. During this time she performed in works choreographed by Helen Parlour (ex – Motion House Dance Company), Annie Lok, Lalitaraja and Hey Zeus. Whilst at Laban Kate performed in dance pieces by Gary Lambert (ex-Rambert and Phoenix Dance Company) and Marina Collard at the famous Bonnie Bird Theatre.
